As Overland Park Kansas goes, Andy Klein Pontiac Buick GMC has been around since the side roads of Metcalf Ave were dirt! Family owned and operated by the Klein's for over 64 years. Andy Klein PBG has seen the Metcalf corridor grow to what it is today. After General Motors closed 1,100 dealers nationwide in May of this year. The Klein family figured they would continue as normal. Then General Motors decided to close another 1,500 dealers a month later. This time Andy Klein PBG was told to build a new facility in southern Overland Park or their dealer agreement would not be renewed in 2010. Then GM added that the Pontiac brand would be discontinued. In this economy who in their right mind would spend $4 to $6 million on a new building. And without Pontiac, which is a volume sales car for Andy Klein PBG, it seemed to spell doom for the long time dealer. It seems the stars were all aligned and the wind of change was in the air. Thinking about how to keep the 40 plus employees and the families that rely on their jobs from becoming more statistics. Andy Klein ended the dealer agreement early with GM and began the process to obtain a Mazda franchise. From early August everything happened as it should in a very timely fashion. As of October 6th 2009 Andy Klein PBG became Andy Klein Mazda. With 70 plus new 2010 models arriving soon and preowned Mazda vehicles available now. Andy Klein will soon have a "Grand Opening" or re-opening you could say. Our doors were never closed and we still continued to service our customers during this time and will continue to do so for many more years.
